BrooklyN finally Has The Race It Deserves!
The NYCRUNS Brooklyn Marathon takes a huge leap forward this year as it leaves Prospect Park for the very first time in its eight year history, adds a new half marathon option, and moves a month earlier to an idyllic October date.
This year's race starts on Eastern Parkway near the Brooklyn Museum and takes you on a 10 mile tour of Brooklyn before heading into Prospect Park. The race will showcase Brooklyn neighborhoods including Prospect Heights, Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Crown Heights, Windsor Terrace, and Kensington. Half marathoners will then run almost a full loop of Prospect Park, while marathoners will complete a total of nearly five loops of the park.
1,500 lucky marathoners will be joined by as many as 11,000 half marathoners in a transformative year for the race. Brooklyn finally has the race it deserve - register now!
The USATF Certified courses will be electronically timed using the MYLAPS Bibtag system. There will be timing (split) points and clocks throughout the course.
H20, Gatorade, and restrooms will be available approximately every 1.5 miles, and medical support will be available throughout the course.
NYCRUNS is known for putting on running events of the highest quality. After the race, change into your NYCRUNS Brooklyn Marathon & Half Marathon long sleeve race shirt* and wear your incredible medal with pride! Enjoy a fresh New York bagel (with a shmear of cream cheese of course), New York State apples, and more while listening to a world class DJ and seeing your friends cross the finish line.
Afterwards, revisit your race by checking out the app and digging on the free photos taken along the course and at the finish line (video too!).
