The race will start and end on Center Drive in Prospect Park. The course exits Center Drive at West Drive makes 2 circuits of the lower loop of the park, followed by six full loops and one final lower loop before returning to Center Drive from East Drive and completing.
The course is entirely in the rec lanes - runners on the main roadway can be disqualified. This course is USATF certified and them's the rules.
The start and finish will provide, water, food (after the race!), toilets, a dreamy post-race if the weather is good, and our medical command center. Baggage check will also be located here.
At either end of Center Drive, there will be H20/Gatorade stations as well as medical support. There will be mile markers and clocks at the start and finish.
A question we heard a lot last year - was how do you keep track of your laps. Most people had no trouble (yea-runners are smart) but we did come up with a system involving rubber bands. This year we hope to leverage our state or the art timing system to indicate where we think you are on the course on a video screen that you will pass 9 times. We still need to test this fully, but we hope to display your name, current time, mileage, and whether or not you should be turning left or going straight at Center Drive.
